"Debunking the made-for-Africa script" - Catherine Phiri at TEDxEuston 2013

She is often introduced as  a trailblazing  entrepreneur. She  is the managing director of  Media 365, a cause-related communications company with headquarters in Lusaka, Zambia, which produces award-winning campaigns for leading organizations and academic institutions including UNICEF, Johns Hopkins University and the African Peer Review Mechanism. She is the executive producer of Zambia’s popular drama series Love Games, funded by Communication Support for Health (USAID). A passionate advocate for HIV and AIDS awareness, in addition to which she was also the executive producer of  Shuga, MTV’s first drama series for Africa with a HIV storyline. In her TEDxEuston 2013 talk, Catherine Phiri talks us through her passion and aim to challenge the cheapness and laziness of developmental health messaging aimed at Africans. "I realised that uninspiring and unengaging development information was a Made-for-Africa formula" She inspires us to challenge this formula and reminds us that "We know how to tell our stories". Imagine the ripple effect of that!

Watch her amazing talk HERE....then share, share, share!
